1 pound lean stew meat, cut into small pieces and rinsed
1 (28 ounce) can tomatoes
12 ounces frozen mixed vegetables
4 beef bouillon cubes
1 medium onion, chopped
Water
1/3 cup barley or 1/2 thin noodles
Put meat, tomatoes, vegetables, bouillon cubes and onion into a crockpot in order listed. Fill crockpot to within 1 inch of the rim with water. Cook on LOW for 24 hours. Add barley or noodles 3 to 4 hours before serving.
Makes 3 quarts.

Crockpot Recipe for Barbecue Bean Soup

1 pound Great Northern beans, soaked
2 teaspoons salt
1 medium onion, chopped
1/8 teaspoon ground pepper
2 pounds beef short ribs
6 cups water
3/4 cup barbecue sauce
Place all ingredients except barbecue sauce into crockpot. Cover and cook on LOW for 10 to 16 hours.
Before serving, remove short ribs and cut meat from bones. Return meat to crockpot. Stir in barbecue sauce before serving.

3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Dash of Tabasco sauce
Mix well and pour into crockpot. Cook 3 hours on HIGH or 6 hours on LOW, stirring occasionally.
Makes 3 quarts.

Banana Nut Loaf
1/3 cup shortening
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 3/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup ripe bananas, mashed
1/2 cup walnuts
Cream together shortening and sugar, add eggs and beat well.
Sift dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture alternately with banana, blending well after each addition. Stir in nuts. Pour into well-greased 4- to 6-cup mold. Cover with foil and tie. Pour 2 cups hot water into crockpot. Place mold on rack or trivet in pot. Cover and cook on HIGH for 2 to 3 hours or until bread is done.
Serve warm or cool with butter, cream cheese or peanut butter.

Crock Pot Recipe for Banana Bread
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup shortening
2/3 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 1/2 cups well mashed, overripe bananas (2 or 3 bananas)
1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts (optional)
Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. With the electric beater on low, fluff the shortening in a small bowl, until soft and creamy. Add the sugar gradually. Beat in the eggs in a slow stream.
With a fork, beat in 1/3 of the flour mixture, 1/2 the bananas another 1/3 of the flour mixture, the rest of the bananas then the last of the flour mixture. Fold in the walnuts. Turn into a greased and floured baking unit or a 2 1/2-quart mold and cover. Place on a rack in the crockpot. Cover the crockpot, but prop the lid open with a wooden pick or a twist of foil to let the excess steam escape. Cook on HIGH for 4 to 6 hours.
Cool on a rack for 10 minutes.
Serve warm.
Yields 4 to 6 servings.

Easy Crockpot Baked Ham In Foil
